Here’s What The Fast And Furious Cast Would Drive In The EV World

EVs in Fast and Furious movies are more believable than you may think, and these are the most likely contenders, to be driven by the main characters

The Fast and Furious franchise has come a long way and the 10th and final movie is due to be released on May 19th, 2023. The movie is going to be separated into two parts, and it seems, we are finally going to see electric vehicles, featured in it. Not long ago, a Dodge Charger Daytona EV was spotted at the set of Fast X, at Angelino Heights – the iconic location, where the Toretto house and Toretto’s Market and Café (Bob’s Market) are located. While the trailer doesn’t suggest some of the characters will sit behind the wheel of electric cars, we are taking a look at what EVs would suit each of the franchise’s main characters.

Dominic Toretto: Dodge Charger Daytona SRT

This one is pretty obvious since Vin Diesel’s character (Dom) has been almost always, faithful to MOPARs, especially the Dodge Charger. Now that Dodge produced the first-ever, e-Muscle car, it goes without saying that in an age of EVs, Dominic Toretto’s choice of transportation will be the all-electric, Dodge Charger Daytona EV. The electric Muscle car can, currently, be had with up to 670 horsepower (493 kilowatts), but you can be sure Dom’s will pack a bigger punch than that. More importantly, the Charger Daytona EV’s spacious interior offers plenty of room for family.

Brian O’Conner: Nissan GT-R R36 EV and Porsche Taycan

The 10th and final installment of Fast and Furious will mark the return of the late Paul Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner. This is, likely, the hero that experienced the biggest character development since the original Fast and Furious movie. Brian has always been partial to the Nissan Skyline and given the information we have about a future, GT-R EV, it is only natural that Paul Walker’s character will choose that. The Porsche Taycan is also an option, since it is the other brand Paul was fond of, as seen in Fast 5. Sadly, we all know what happened in a red Carrera GT. Regardless, we know that Porsche is working on a Tesla Plaid-slaying Taycan, so that would be a good fit for Brian, who by that point, is also a family man.

Roman Pierce: Tesla Roadster

After the Rio de Janeiro heist, Tyrese Gibson’s character, Roman, devoted himself to an opulent lifestyle – jets, women, champagne, etc. A former prisoner, it is safe to say Roman is into the flashy lifestyle, and in the age of EVs, it won’t get much flashier than the soon-to-arrive, Tesla Roadster. With over 1,200 horsepower (895 kilowatts), 0 to 60 mph 9(7 km/h) time of 1.9 seconds, and a jet booster, the Tesla Roadster sounds like it would be a perfect fit for the movie’s physics-defying action sequences. Also, Elon Musk sent one into space, so bonus points for that.

Jacob Toretto: Ford F-150 Lightning

When one brother is a Dodge guy and the other is a Ford guy, you can have some tense family relations. We saw that in Fast 9 between Dom and his younger brother, Jacob who was exiled after losing a street race. In Fast X, John Cena will be seen (pun intended), once again, this time on his family’s side from the very beginning of the movie. Since the classic Mustang is still ICE-powered and the Mach-E is just too soft for the bulky character, the next best fit would be the Ford F-150 Lightning. The EV version of the truck is already a match for the current Raptor, thanks to 571 horsepower (426 kilowatts) and 775 pound-feet (1,051 Nm). In the Fast and Furious universe, everything is more powerful, so it will likely, be close to double the power.
